Technology
The design of the ELM courses, and their Internet delivery, has been developed to meet the unique needs of both course administrators and the healthcare provider/course participant. Always accessible from the ELM Home Page, the curriculum and reporting are portable, scalable and dynamic.
For Administrators:
ELM courses are turnkey and automated to assure administrators an easy and efficient technology implementation. Then, with access to a secure, real-time Reporting Center, they can monitor the progress and achievement of participating departments and healthcare providers, ensuring both program completion and program success.
Course participation and performance reports are available to program administrators 24/7, in real-time. By simply logging into the course administration tool with a unique login and secure password, administrators can monitor the course implementation from any Internet connection and with just a few clicks.
Administrators can look at the status and success of departments as well as individual participants through a simple and intuitive interface.
Courses and course units are also flexible and easily customizable to the needs of each medical facility or department. And, like the reporting/monitoring tools, the web environment enables the ELM Editorial Board and Implementation Staff to make course updates and changes in real-time.
For Course Participants:
ELM course technology was designed with special attention to the needs of any healthcare provider. Not only does Internet delivery enable course participants to access curriculum from any Internet connection, with unique registration for each participant, course progress is recorded to allow them to stop and start as time and schedule permits.
The Targeted Feedback System ensures that the curriculum itself is personalized to each user. As the user progresses through each course unit, they must complete a comprehensive test. If the certification level in a particular topic area is not achieved, supplemental materials on that topic are presented. Abbreviated retesting is also required to achieve certification for the topic.
