ELM uses problem-based training as our educational approach for
health professionals, using case situations to discuss issues and
principles as well as examine problems inherent in situations that
arise in clinical practice. By using these cases to illustrate negligence
or risk, physicians become more aware of sentinel indicators of
substandard professional conduct.
To initiate an ELM Interactive Course, the participant is provided
with instructions, introduced to the course's method, and guided
to the pre-test. Next, the client sequentially cycles through the
phases of the learning process. Performance is profiled and Targeted
Feedback given for areas of weakness to "close the learning loop"
in each topic area. Supplemental Materials and Testing are also
provided to supplement deficient performance areas.
