Academic Medical Centers

ELM programs are popular with academic medical centers, primarily because they staff higher-risk residents, they have a mandate to teach, and they can use ELM programs to help them meet multiple educational initiatives at once.

Ways to use ELM: Many of our clients also utilize ELM programs as an orientation program for residents. In addition to acting as a risk management tool for your medical staff, ELM courses can help your organization's residents meet its Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) Core Competencies.

Funding Your Program: Most academic medical centers fund ELM programs through their self-funded insurance entities. If your facility is interested in considering an ELM program, you may want to consider funding through your insurance trust, captive, or risk retention group.
