Just released survey shows participant ratings for satisfaction,
effectiveness and usefulness remain consistently strong and impressive.
Rockville,
MD – March 20, 2007 - ELM Exchange, the leading
provider of Internet-based risk management education for the healthcare
industry, today released results from their 2006 survey which attest
to the value healthcare providers place on convenient, substantive
education that helps them understand the environment in which they
work.
ELM courses and their online delivery meet this
need by illustrating how care and professional conduct are assessed.
The ELM curriculum is case-based and uses real-life clinical situations
to address fundamental principles of healthcare risk management,
safety and quality.
Highlights of the survey, which includes the
feedback of more than 11,000 participants, include:
7.3 Effectiveness Rating (on scale of 1-10)
93.4% Found courses Useful to their Practice
96.3% Stated the Course Objectives were achieved
“Healthcare providers are not often given
opportunities to impact the malpractice crisis. We have always believed
that if they were more aware of societal expectations of their professional
conduct, they would be empowered to make more confident care decisions,”
explained ELM’s Founder, Sal Fiscina, MD, JD. “The feedback
we have received from our courses demonstrates that healthcare providers
appreciate that our focus has provided them with tools to address
this professional challenge.”
The survey results are delivered to clients
regularly and reviewed with the ELM Editorial Board on a semi-annual
basis. This allows ELM and its clients to monitor the perceived
effectiveness of each course unit. If changes to specific parts
of the course are necessary, the ELM team can make them in real-time.
“2006 was an outstanding year for us.
What is so exciting to us is that if you deliver material that is
compelling, relevant and easy to access, it will be useful and it
will be appreciated,” said Shara Cohen, Chief Executive Officer.
Existing ELM customers have either maintained
or extended their subscriber licenses, while the acquisition of
new accounts increased ELM’s client roster by over 100% this
year. New customers sited physician feedback, the clinical focus
of courses, as well as the ease of implementation and customization
to be the key factors in their decision to select ELM to provide
their risk management education programs. In addition, “Case
of the Week” subscriptions grew to nearly 3,000.
